What Makes Our Carpentry Different
Most carpenters quote the visible work and stop at anything that needs a licensed asbestos removalist or structural sign off. We handle the full lifecycle: assessment, asbestos removal where needed, structural framing, sheet work, finishing carpentry and architectural detail. One licence number on the asbestos side (AD213403), one on the carpentry side (398318C), one site supervisor, one quote.
That matters most in two situations. The first is an older home where the renovation reveals fibro walls, asbestos eaves or a friable section in the roof cavity. The second is a structural change like a wall removal or open plan conversion, where the demolition needs to be planned around the load path and the rebuild needs to match the existing detail.
Asbestos Removal and Carpentry in One Team
This is the part of our business that solves the biggest pain for older home renovations in Sydney. Most homeowners discover suspected asbestos halfway through a project, which then stalls everything: the builder cannot continue until the asbestos is gone, the asbestos removalist cannot do anything beyond their licence, and the new wall, eave or ceiling still has to be rebuilt by a third trade.
Rosemont covers all three in-house. The asbestos team handles testing, removal and disposal. The carpentry team rebuilds the affected area in the same project. You get one site supervisor, one written quote and one finish date. We are one of the only Sydney businesses offering this combined service under both licences.
If your project is going to touch fibro, eaves, old garages, internal walls in a pre-1990 home, or a wet area in a Federation or post-war house, talk to us before booking separate trades.

Our Carpentry Services
Eaves Replacement and Repair
Eaves are one of the most common sources of asbestos sheet on older Sydney homes. Where the eaves contain asbestos, our Class A asbestos team removes them and the carpentry team installs new fibre cement or hardwood sheeting in the same profile. Where the existing eaves are timber but rotted or damaged, our eaves repair and eaves replacement services bring them back to a clean, weather-tight finish.
Wainscoting and Wall Panelling
Wainscoting and decorative wall panelling are popular in Federation, Edwardian and Hamptons-style homes across Sydney. We design and install custom panelling in hallways, dining rooms, stairwells and entries, using painted MDF, primed pine or solid timber depending on the look and budget you want.
Door Replacement and Solid Door Upgrades
Older Sydney homes often have hollow internal doors that have warped, swollen at the base or lost their hardware. Our door replacement and solid door upgrades bring rooms back to a heavier, quieter, draught-sealed finish. We also handle door reframing, jamb repairs and hardware swaps as part of the same job.
Concealed Beam Installation
When clients want to remove a load-bearing wall for an open plan layout, our concealed beam installation service hides the structural beam inside the ceiling line. The result is a flush ceiling without a visible bulkhead, which keeps the sight lines clean across the new space. Engineer-certified where required.
Structural Modification
Wall removals, doorway changes, window enlargements and floor plan rework. Our structural modification work is engineer-certified where the change touches a load-bearing element, and we coordinate the engineer, council and trades so the homeowner does not have to manage them.
Open Plan Renovation
Combining the kitchen, dining and living areas into an open plan layout is one of the most common renovations we run. Open plan solutions cover wall removal, beam installation, floor levelling, new joinery framing and ceiling repair. Where the demolition involves older fibro walls or asbestos linings, we handle that with our Class A asbestos team in the same project.
Restoration and Termite Damage Repair
Termite damage, water rot and storm damage are constant in older Sydney homes. We replace damaged stud framing, sub-floor bearers, roof timbers and lining boards. On insurance work, we handle the documentation, photos and scope of works directly so the claim moves faster.

Carpentry FAQs
Do you handle structural work?
Yes. We hold an NSW carpentry licence (398318C) and run structural modification jobs that include wall removals, beam installations, window enlargements and load path changes. Where engineer certification is required, we organise it as part of the project.
Can you remove asbestos walls and rebuild them in the same job?
es. We hold both a Class A asbestos removal licence (AD213403) and a carpentry licence, which means our team can legally remove the asbestos sheeting and rebuild the wall, eave or ceiling in the same project. Most asbestos removalists cannot do the rebuild, and most carpenters cannot legally touch the asbestos. We do both.
Do I need council approval for structural changes?
It depends on the scope. Cosmetic and non-structural changes generally do not need council approval. Wall removals, room extensions, window enlargements and load-bearing changes usually require either a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) or a Development Application (DA). We help you work out which one applies during the site inspection.
Can you match heritage detail on older homes?
Yes. A large share of our work is on Federation, Edwardian and inter-war homes. We replicate eaves profiles, skirting boards, architraves, panelling and door styles to match the original detail.
Do you do insurance work?
Yes. We handle damage repair and full restorations on insurance claims, including documentation, photos and scope of works direct to the insurer. This is particularly common after storm damage, water damage or fire damage to older homes.
